Since November 2018, Salman has served as the Chief Procurement Officer and Supply Chain Director at the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen, driving strategic sourcing, supplier management, contract management, logistics, and supply chain planning critical to supporting national recovery projects. His adeptness at managing procurement contracts, import/export operations, and supplier negotiations guarantees high service levels while optimizing deliveries and cost efficiency.
He oversees complex logistics operations and has directed public and private procurement with strong expertise in Saudi Tender & Procurement Law. Salman plays a central role in planning, executing, and delivering large-scale sustainable development projects with more than USD 1.2 Billion ensuring timely delivery of critical services and materials while strengthening operational resilience. He also led the USD 800M Saudi Oil Derivatives Grant, securing continuous power generation by managing fuel supply and establishing robust governance frameworks.
Prior to this, he was the Director of Supply Chain at ARASCO (2017โ2018), where he designed and executed supply chain strategies supporting the sourcing of materials for new manufacturing plants, led logistics and warehouse management, and developed transportation and delivery frameworks. His cross-functional collaboration ensured customer satisfaction, timely order management, and communications on supply contingencies.
Earlier, as Supply Chain Manager at The Olayan Group, he directed planning, purchasing, distribution, transportation, and sourcing across healthcare sectors. He was recognized for transforming supply planning, raising planning accuracy from 65% to 90%, and reducing freight costs by 50% by improving overall supply chain processes and controlling the day-to-day operations while ensuring compliance with all partiesโ requirements, including SFDA and customs regulations.
Salman spent nearly 14 years with SABIC, including a three-year assignment in Singapore. His earlier tenure at SABIC included leading supply chain operations across multiple territories, where he improved integrated planning and execution processes for SABIC manufacturing, including new Chemical and Petrochemical Plants in China, and contributed to improved sales in South East Asia and China, in addition to controlling logistics operations at the Singapore Hub. Among his leadership roles at SABIC was leading the planning process with manufacturing as Supply Chain Planning Manager. His responsibilities also included managing overall working capital and distribution of products to customers located in many countries.
Salmanโs experience spans comprehensive supply chain functions across Healthcare, Industrial, Electrical, Safety, Graphics, and Consumer Business Units, executing procurement, contract management, inventory oversight, logistics, and customer service operations. His initiatives improved on-time delivery and advanced cost reduction programs.
